Voices of Dignity: Defending Ukraine

Three years. 1097 days of resistance. Countless stories of dignity.

On February 24, Ukraine House in Denmark and Danish Culture Institute invite you to 'Voices of Dignity: Defending Ukraine' commemorative poetry and music event..

Experience the power of Ukrainian voices through:

  • Moving testimonies from human rights activist and journalist, recently freed POW Maksym Butkevych

  • Poetry from the frontlines by serving soldiers Yaryna Chornohuz and Artur Dron. In a powerful symbol of Danish-Ukrainian solidarity, the poetry of Yaryna and Artur will be read in Danish by Lone Træholt -  Denmark’s first female Brigadier General (Ret.) and Hans Christian Enevold, Brigadier General (Ret.)  -  a distinguished Danish Air Force officer who held key roles in NATO, UN missions, and national defense, earning honors like the Legion of Merit (US) and the Order of Dannebrog.

  • A unique musical performance on a repurposed URAGAN missile by Roman Grygoriv and performance of Kyiv Kamerata national soloist ensemble

  • Two powerful exhibitions including our special Copenhagen Light Festival installation

We humbly invite you to learn, reflect, and grieve with us as we look back at the sacrifices made with hope for what is to come.
